We now have a global community of customers, supporters, partners, and employees. Thank you to Accel, Firstmark, SignalFire, Insight, and Itai Tsiddon for believing in Frame.io. Over the past few years, our Board grew to include some of the most renowned investors in tech, all of whom have now become cherished mentors, colleagues, and friends. Vas Natarajan of Accel put a stake in the ground and took a bet on our small and mighty team, who had a bold but unproven vision for transforming the world of video. It was a product built with a deep appreciation for the needs of video professionals, born out of our own experiences as post-production experts.īy October of that same year, we had officially become a venture backed company. It was almost like trying to learn Premiere on my own - there are so many things I could do with the software, but I physically could not figure out how to use it on my own.In March of 2015, my co-founder, John, and I launched Frame.io inside the confines of our boutique post-production company in New York City. My company doesn't have precious time to waste on boarding people onto new software, so I found using Frame.io to be more trouble than it was worth. There are a lot of bells and whistles to pull and prod, but without someone physically teaching me the software, I couldn't figure it out. Honestly, I found this software to be confusing. And I like that you can create essentially custom pages for projects to live (as opposed to old school Vimeo). It has all of the features I'd want in a video-sharing site, like password protection. This feature saves us so much time in post, as people typically are off on their time codes when giving in notes. The single best feature of Frame.io is the ability for reviewers to leave time-coded notes on the project, simply by commenting at the moment they are trying to note. There's a lot of promise here, but I really need a tutorial.
